MaxiCode
MaxiCode was developed originally by the United Parcel Service
in 1992. MaxiCode is a one inch square code consisting of a series
of hexagonal shaped elements surrounding a cicular finder pattern.
The usage of the hexagonal elements allows the data to be compacted
15% denser than square shaped elements. MaxiCode can encode roughly
100 characters. The error correcting used by MaxiCode will allow
the symbol to be read even if 25% of it has been destroyed. MaxiCode
can be read quickly (belt speeds over 550 feet per minute) and in
any direction.
MaxiCode activex control supports
MaxiCode bar code.
