Barcode Issues

A. Any modern printer with 300 dpi resolution or higher should do.

Q. How do I generate an Extended Code 39?
A. Lowercase and control characters are encoded with character combinations. The control will automatically create Extended Code 39 if necessary.

Q. I'm required to create a UPC / EAN code for our products. How do I proceed?
A. Apply for a UPC / EAN codes at your country's UPC / EAN branch. In the US see http://www.uc-council.org.In Europe see your national EAN branch, e.g. for France http://www.ean.fr or for Germany http://www.ean.de.

Q. How do I generate an ISBN / ISSN / Bookland code?
A. Follow these steps:
1 Obtain an ISBN / Bookland number from www.isbn.org, let's assume you received "0-672-32230-7".
2 Select Code EAN 13 in the codetype and enter "978" (that's the standard ISBN prefix used to distinguish book from grocery products etc.) into the data field for your code and append your number. Leave out the last digit and the hyphens. The text should then read: "978067232230".
3 The price is encoded in the 5 digit Add On and usually left padded with "0". So if your book costs USD 79.00 enter "07900" in the addon field for the Add On.
4 The ISBN barcode will be displayed.

Q. I don't know anything about bar codes. Where can I get some background info?
A. Visit the know-how section for a comparison of all major barcode types: http://www.Jetosoft Barcode ActiveX.com/knowhow.php
