Baucus to have U.S. healthcare bill next week: source

WASHINGTON U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has told fellow Democrats that he is ready to put together a healthcare overhaul reform bill by next week even if he has no Republican support, a source familiar with the situation said.

The source said Baucus, who has been working with the two other Democrats and three Republicans on the committee's bipartisan negotiating team, said he would put out his own version of a bill next week and will move it to the full Finance Committee for debate the following week.

"He is making clear ... it is time for action and time to move forward to get a bill done by the end of the year," the source told Reuters.
